International Universities Counseling

Welcome to the Hisar School University and Career Counseling Office where Turkish and International university counselors work collaboratively with faculty and administrators in line with the mission and vision of Hisar School.

Our office is committed to educating, counseling, and advocating for students through the career guidance, course selection, and university application and selection process. We provide an environment where students are encouraged to set realistic and attainable university admissions goals for themselves while supporting each student’s talents and character. Our goal is to inspire students to transform their potential into reality.

We recognize each student as a unique individual, living in a highly competitive academic and social environment. We support Hisar students as they identify their personal attributes and align these qualities with their university options by helping them find an appropriate fit. We assist students with research tools, problem-solving, writing, critical thinking and evaluation.

The International University Counselors coordinate all programs related to the university preparation, application and selection processes. Each year over 200 international universities visit Hisar School to meet with students about their campuses, academic programs, and admissions requirements. Beginning with students in grade 9 we coordinate programs for students and parents to educate them about the international admissions processes. We also organize general grade level meetings and workshops for students and parents as well as counsel them in individual meetings. We advise students on curriculum and career choices as well as summer enrichment programs in line with their personal and future goals.

Several standardized tests are administered at Hisar School, which are organized through our office. We administer the PSAT (Pre-Scholastic Aptitude Test) to all grade 10 and 11 students in order to provide early assessment of college readiness. Each year we also administer a closed session of the IELTS(International English Language Testing System) exam in the spring semester open to all high school students. Hisar School is also a Test Center for the SAT(Scholastic Aptitude Test) and administers the exam six times throughout the academic year.

As members of International ACAC (Association for College Admission Counseling), NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling), and CIS (Council of International Schools) we participate in professional development programs and university tours throughout the year.

In order to keep students and families informed regarding the university application process, the College Counseling Office uses Cialfo, a comprehensive and secure web-based software system and database. Cialfo allows students and parents to access information and is a way for students to research universities and organize their university list. All high school students as well as parents are provided access to Cialfo.
