One of the basic aims of social sciences is to encourage students to gain knowledge and skills about the needs and expectations of the society. Social science courses in preschool encourage students to understand different characteristics, ideas and interest of the people and to be aware of the fact that they may create a difference in the world. Accepting differences and respecting others move the students forward in becoming a global citizen.
Activities in the program can be listed as Geography, History and Ecology. These subjects help them to understand that people different roles and functions in society. Every year students choose and work on a project for two weeks. Global issues are discussed in long group time and students are encouraged to think upon solutions. They are offered opportunities to work out these solutions in real life. Through the work, students take their steps in order to become responsible individuals.
