Kenn Nesbitt, the American Children’s Poet Laureate, came to Hisar School to deliver a two-day poetry workshop. Our 6th Grade students attended his presentation and then spent two lessons in class working on their own poetry and talking about publication. Students learned to brainstorm creatively and to push their imaginations. They also learned tips for developing a publishable manuscript. Most of all, they learned the fun of playing with words and language.
