Accreditations and Memberships

At Hisar School, we provide the best learning environments to our students, whilst at the same time helping them support their socio-cultural development, raise awareness of key issues and themes around the world, and acquire the skills to become responsible world citizens with a strong message. This is the direction and understanding we adopt in education activities. Therefore, we are regularly accredited by prestigious international institutions of education.

These accreditations add to Hisar School’s and students’ international visibility, and are granted as a result of lengthy assessments performed at certain periods.

Council of International Schools (CIS)

The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a membership community committed to high quality international education. As a global non-profit membership organisation, CIS provides services to primary and secondary schools, higher education institutions and individuals which have a desire to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to pursue their lives as global citizens; and a commitment to high quality international education. We are an accredited member of CIS since 2008.

New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges is a voluntary membership organization of public and independent schools and colleges. The mission of NEASC is to assess and promote the quality of education through the accreditation of its members. It is composed of four autonomous commissions serving public schools, independent schools, schools abroad, and institutions of higher education. We are an accredited member of NEASC since 2007.

Educational Collaborative for International Schools (ECIS)

ECIS is a non-profit global membership organisation that provides professional learning, credentials, and bespoke solutions to its members, comprising start-up and mature international and internationally-minded schools, organisations that support education through their products and services, and individuals who are internationally-minded in their outlook and practice.

Fab Academy Node

Fab Academy is a program initiated by the Center for Bits and Atoms at MIT University and led by Prof. Neil Gershenfeld, aiming to teach digital fabrication technologies. Supported by the Fab Foundation, this program seeks to equip students with the skills to develop innovative projects and create creative solutions using digital fabrication technologies. Becoming a Fab Academy Node means having the authority to run this prestigious and globally recognized educational program and providing our students with a strong foundation in digital production technologies.

HighScope Educational Research Foundation

HighScope Educational Research Foundation is an independent nonprofit research, development, training, and public outreach organization with headquarters in Ypsilanti, Michigan. HighScope’s mission is to lift lives through education. We envision a world in which all educational settings use active participatory learning so everyone has a chance to succeed in life and contribute to society.

The College Board

The College Board is a mission-driven not-for-profit organization that connects students to college success and opportunity. Founded in 1900, the College Board was created to expand access to higher education. Today, the membership association is made up of over 6,000 of the world’s leading educational institutions and is dedicated to promoting excellence and equity in education.

The Central & Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA)

The Central & Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA) was founded as a result of the growth of American and International Schools in Central and Eastern Europe. In many cases, the schools were geographically isolated from each other and from the main stream of American and International Education.

National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC)

The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) is an organization of more than 14,000 professionals from around the world dedicated to serving students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education.

Common Sense

Common Sense is the leading independent nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children thrive in a world of media and technology. Common Sense empowers parents, teachers, and policymakers by providing unbiased information, trusted advice, and innovative tools to help them harness the power of media and technology as a positive force in all children’s lives.

Apple Distinguished School

Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of leadership and educational excellence that demonstrate Apple’s vision for learning with technology as some of the most innovative schools in the world.

Global Schools Program

The Global Schools Program is an initiative of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network in support of UNESCO’s Global Action Program on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). As a member of this community, Hisar School is committed to carrying out studies to ensure that our students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in order to support the “Sustainable Development Goals” determined by the United Nations and to promote sustainable development. We are a member of Global Schools Program since 2021.

International Award for Young People

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global framework for non-formal education and learning, which challenges young people to dream big, celebrate their achievements and make a difference in their world. Through developing transferable skills, increasing their fitness levels, cultivating a sense of adventure and volunteering in their community, the Award helps young people to find their purpose, passion and place in the world.

Coursera

Coursera is a global online learning platform founded in 2012 by Stanford University computer science professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller, and offers access to online courses and degrees from leading universities and companies. Having realized the first and only high school level cooperation in Turkey with Coursera, Hisar Schools offers its students distance, online courses prepared in 21st century competencies, natural sciences, social sciences, linguistics, computer sciences, mathematics, art and similar fields. Three hundred courses determined by the evaluation of our education staff were made available to Hisar High School students within the scope of “Coursera for Campus” in the 2022-2023 Academic Year.
