It is the first and only ESO (Educational Service Organization) accredited by NEASC in Türkiye.
Educators carry the responsibility of transforming their practices while managing both the development processes of students and the changes in education policies. “Teacher agency” allows teachers to strengthen themselves professionally, take an active role in learning processes, identify their development needs, and make effective decisions. Schools embracing this approach take the lead in education and adapt swiftly to changes. Guided by this vision, the Professional Learning Center supports teachers’ professional development and strives to consistently enhance educational practices.
In a rapidly changing world, the pace of change continues to accelerate, with no signs of slowing down. During this transformation process, the role of teachers in providing leadership and guidance is vital. Within the school ecosystem, it is crucial for educators to navigate their development paths and choose programs that resonate with their interests and professional advancement, thereby taking responsibility for their growth. The Professional Learning Center engages in a range of activities designed to enhance educational processes, foster innovative strategies, and support research and development initiatives. It collaborates with different disciplines and departments to design and implement programs that support the professional development of teachers and staff. Additionally, it ensures that professional learning opportunities align with the strategic plan and performance evaluation systems. Throughout these processes, it encourages national and international collaborative projects. The Professional Learning Center embraces a data-driven approach, offering consultancy services, implementing projects with social impact, and cultivating innovative and adaptable environments that facilitate research, learning, and knowledge sharing.
Briefly PÖMER
The Hisar School Professional Learning Center (PÖMER)was established in September 2021 with the aim ofmaking professional development processes moresystematic, efficient, and effective. The ProfessionalLearning Center (PÖMER) develops sustainableeducational programs and systems that meet the needsof the era. It offers advanced professional learningprograms, both online and in person, for educators,professionals from different fields, and sector experts, incollaboration with expert individuals and institutions. Italso encourages school staff to participate inpostgraduate programs in alignment with the mission,vision, and strategic plan of Hisar School.
